SeaDream Yacht Club: The Ultimate Guide
Have you ever dreamed of sailing on a luxurious yacht, enjoying gourmet food and top-notch service? If so, SeaDream Yacht Club might be the perfect cruise line for you. Here's what you need to know before you set sail with SeaDream.
We recently had an incredible experience sailing the Caribbean aboard Seadream! The stunning blue water and spectacular sunny views were simply breathtaking. Check out what we got to experience in our video below – you don't want to miss it!
The Ships
SeaDream Yacht Club operates two identical ships, the SeaDream I and the SeaDream II. Both vessels provide a luxurious, intimate experience with fewer than 56 cabins onboard. The ships are designed to be incredibly spacious - they feature large public spaces and expansive outdoor decks with plenty of room for lounging on deck chairs or at the bar.
These ships, built in 1984, previously sailed with Cunard and Seabourne. Despite their age, the vessels remain in remarkable condition thanks to an innovative $10 million upgrade initiative that ensures they are always up-to-date with modern conveniences.
The renovation included state-of-the-art Starlink Wi-Fi, luxurious Seóra® Balinese Dream Beds and hammocks on the outside decks. To top it all off there are two new Jacuzzis with 360-degree views plus outdoor rain showers for cooling down after a day of soaking up the sun!
Does SeaDream have balconies?
No, SeaDream does not have balconies. However, the sea view cabins on both ships offer plenty of natural light, as well as large picture windows that provide stunning views of the ocean.
What cabins are available on SeaDream?
SeaDream offers three cabin categories, including Yacht Club Stateroom with picture window, Yacht Club Stateroom with porthole window, and Suites. Each cabin is spacious and well-appointed, with high-end amenities like Egyptian cotton linens, L'Occitane bath products, and new 55-inch LED TVs. Most staterooms offer a choice of 2 twin beds or 1 queen bed.
Your cabin comes fully stocked with a mini-bar, a complimentary bottle of champagne on boarding day, and unique gifts each night. Our favourite present is the customized soft pyjamas that are sure to make you feel right at home!
Recently, the ships underwent an extensive transformation of their staterooms. Every inch was renovated, from bare steel to new furniture and soft furnishings with a more efficient storage design to provide increased comfort and usability of space.
Yacht Club Staterooms with Picture Window are located on Deck 3 and 4 these feature a large window to appreciate the scenery that awaits you outside. They average 195 sq.ft./18.12 sq. meters.
Yacht Club Staterooms with Porthole Windows are located on Deck 2 and have two small porthole windows that provide natural light.
The Owner's Suite is the most spacious room, measuring 447 square feet. It comes complete with a master bathroom and second guest bathroom, as well as a large living area. Plus, it's conveniently located close to the pool on Deck 3.
The Admiral’s Suite is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite located on Deck 4. It has a large living room and dining area, as well as panorama windows.
The Commodore Suite is a one-bedroom, one-bathroom suite located on Deck 5. It has a separate living room and bedroom, as well as a walk-in closet.
What kind of activities is available onboard?
SeaDream offers plenty of onboard activities to keep you entertained and relaxed during your cruise. The line features a pool, multiple hot tubs, a fitness centre, a spa, a small casino, and more. Plus, the line offers unique activities like kayaking and jet skis at no extra charge.
You won't find production shows or guest entertainers on SeaDream. Instead, the ship offers a lounge where movies are shown and the resident musician plays. The piano bar is also a popular spot after dinner with a live musician.
For those interested in learning more about their port destinations, SeaDream also provides shore excursions led by certified local guides who provide an authentic experience. These are additional costs.
One of the best parts about this cruise is the Champagne & Caviar Splash featured during West Indies voyages. As soon as you hear the yacht's horn, the party starts with free champagne and caviar. Plus, a delicious gourmet barbecue is served right on the beach!
A distinct feature of SeaDream is the ability to sleep outside, under the stars, on a comfortable Balinese Dream Bed. The beds come complete with Belgian bed linens and a glass of bubbles at your request. You need to book this experience in advance, but there is no extra cost.
Food and Dining
Breakfast is served daily at the Topside Restaurant - or in the Main Dining Salon on extremely poor weather days. This is located on the ships top decks outside with canvases for shade and heaters for cooler climates. Breakfast features a buffet of cereals, fruits, pastries, bread, and yoghurts. Made-to-order dishes such as omelettes, pancakes, and eggs benedict are also available. While there is a menu, you can order whatever you like, and if they can accommodate they will.
Lunch is also served at the Topside Restaurant which features a menu of made-to-order dishes that change daily.
Dinner is served in the Main Dining Salon or on warm evenings outside which is such a treat. The menu changes daily with a focus on seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu features five courses but you can opt for as many or as few courses as you like. Vegan and vegetarian options are available.
At both lunch and dinner, guests are offered hand-picked house wines. There is also a long list of wines available to buy and a resident sommelier to assist.

The Service
The service onboard SeaDream Yacht Club is superior and the crew goes above and beyond to create a luxurious, comfortable experience. The staff are very friendly, attentive and professional. This yacht is perfect for those who appreciate personalized service, as the crew-to-guest ratio is 1:1.2.
The Destinations
Both SeaDream ships spend the summertime in the Mediterranean and the wintertime in the Caribbean. The small size of these yachts allows adventurers to dock at small ports not normally accessible for cruise ship passengers, making your trip one-of-a-kind!
In addition, transatlantic cruises are available which are a more unique way of experiencing the ship and getting to know your fellow passengers.
Are you curious about what it's like to take a transatlantic cruise on a luxurious yacht? Our video below reveals the exciting experience we had sailing from Europe to the Caribbean.
What is the dress code on SeaDream?
SeaDream has a casual dress code, which means you can pack comfortable clothing such as shorts, t-shirts, and jeans. However, nights onboard SeaDream are slightly more formal with dinner attire being “elegant casual” attire. This means men should wear a collared shirt or polo with trousers or khakis, while women can opt for a dress or skirt and blouse. On warmer evenings, when dining is outside, men can opt for smart shorts.
Who is SeaDream recommended for?
SeaDream is ideal for couples and small groups who are looking for an intimate cruise experience, pampering service, and all-inclusive pricing. The primary passengers onboard are from North America and Europe and are, on average, 40 to 60 years old. Unfortunately, SeaDream does not provide any services or amenities specifically for children. Despite young guests being welcome onboard, we would advise against bringing families aboard.
What is the price of a SeaDream cruise?
The cost of a SeaDream Yacht Club cruise varies depending on the particular voyage and the type of cabin chosen. A 7-night cruise with SeaDream begins at £3,000 / $3,500 per person and approximately £6,500/$8,000 for a suite. The choice is yours: You can book directly or through your favourite travel agent!
In conclusion, sailing with SeaDream Yacht Club promises an unforgettable experience full of luxury, delicious food, unique destinations, and plenty of activities to keep you entertained. Whether you're looking for an intimate voyage or a more adventurous trip around the world - SeaDream has something for everyone.
