The port of Icy Strait Point is divided into two distinct sections, Ocean Landing and Wilderness Landing, each offering its own unique experiences. A highlight of this port is the free-to-use green one - called the “Transporter” that connects the two sides, providing a convenient and scenic mode of transportation.

Additionally, this section of the port serves as a starting point for shuttle bus services to nearby Hoonah town, allowing visitors to explore the charming community at their leisure. If you prefer a leisurely stroll, it's also possible to walk to Hoonah town from Ocean Landing.

On the other hand, Wilderness Landing marks the point of departure for the unforgettable Sky Glider (red gondola) ride. This scenic area is where you board the gondola to ascend Hoonah Mountain and enjoy awe-inspiring panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. The Sky Glider is an additional cost - see below.

Expert guides Shawn or Casey will take you on a catamaran designed for optimal viewing and comfort. Enjoy snacks, hot drinks, and transportation to and from Icy Strait Point.

  2. Sky Glider Gondola Ride: Experience breathtaking panoramic views as you ride the Sky Glider gondola. Board the gondola at Wilderness Landing and ascend Hoonah Mountain for incredible sights. The Sky Gondola departs from the Wilderness Landing side of Icy Strait Point.

    Tickets for the gondola can be purchased from the information desk near the gondola station and cost $49.95 USD for unlimited rides. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the Sky Glider gondola is included with the ZipRider experience as it serves as the sole means of reaching the launch point.

  3. Icy Strait Point Zipline: Feel the thrill as you zip through the air on the world's largest zipline. Reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour and enjoy the stunning scenery along the zipline course.

    The zipline adventure costs $100 USD per ride, and it includes unlimited rides on the Sky Glider gondola. Keep in mind that spaces are limited, and you will be given a designated time. You can book in advance through the cruise line or on the day at the information booth located at the port.

    The walk from Icy Strait Point to Hoonah is around 30-minutes. It is well signposted and a very easy walk. Round trip tickets can be bought from the Ocean Landing side of Icy Strait Point dock.

  5. Take a Free Nature Walk: Enjoy a self-guided nature walk through the pristine wilderness surrounding Icy Strait Point. This website has a great walk along some of the established roads and through a nature trail in the forest that leads to and from the ocean beauty canary.

    Alternatively, join one of the many guided nature walks that depart from Icy Strait Point available to book for an additional cost through the cruise lines.
